About Joris
This photography transcends the ordinary and becomes a form of art.
Joris Vroemen (b. 1955) – Maastricht, The Netherlands
Joris Vroemen developed his love of art from an early age, inspired by his parents, the artist couple Mathieu Vroemen and Riet Jager.
His father was a graphic designer and visual artist, while his mother was a graduate in textile art and a tapestry weaver. Visit Mathieu Vroemen’s website for more information.
From a young age, he gained extensive knowledge of art history as his parents frequently took him to churches, museums, galleries, and more, both in the Netherlands and abroad. He regards this period as pivotal for the rest of his life.
As the industry transitioned into the digital era, Joris seamlessly adapted, becoming an expert in digital image editing. His refined skills bring a consistent, polished aesthetic to projects like magazines, books, and brochures. By unifying visuals from diverse photographers, Joris ensures each publication, such as Chapeau Magazine, maintains a cohesive and professional look.
In his personal work, Joris draws inspiration from a broad spectrum of subjects. Whether man-made or found in the natural world, his deep appreciation for all forms of life and existence allows him to craft images without compromise. Each photograph is a reflection of his unique perspective, capturing the essence of what he finds truly meaningful.
